Kondinin Group engineer, Josh Giumelli, provides a run down on the basic contents for an auto-electrical repairs bag, with tips on common bits and pieces that should be in yours.
Starting with the basics, there is no substitute for a pair of quality Vise Grip or Channellock Combination Linesmen's Pliers. A Milwaukee 12v cordless soldering iron is also very handy.
Narva or Champion crimp terminals are worth the extra money, along with a quality ratcheting pair of crimping pliers. Kincrome makes a very nice pair of auto wire strippers. Heat-shrink - an essential for protection and to prevent water ingress - is a great idea as well as a selection of cable ties.
Of course, always have a selection of fuses, a multi-meter, even an OBD scan tool, and a few types of electrical tape including insulation tape, self-vulcanising and wiring harness tape from a quality supplier like Nitto.
