Lawson Gulliver, manager of a beef and sheep operation at Molong, recently designed a new set of yards from scratch, incorporating all the features he had seen and liked over the years in other yards.

"The main feature we were keen to include in our design was a long race with a full-length catwalk running along one side of it. This makes it very quick and easy to conduct activities such as drenching and vaccinating to large numbers of cattle, with no uprights to get in the way or need to put your arm through railing. Our vet was recently able to pregnancy test 630 cows in two hours and 51 minutes using a scanner and walking along the catwalk," he said.
