The convoy, dubbed "the convoy to Canberra" was scheduled to meet at Yass in New South Wales this morning before making its way to Canberra.

This event is being organised by concerned communities in the Southern Basin region who are facing the results of what they claim to be poor management of water via the Murray-Darling Basin Plan.

The convoy has attracted substantial interest and includes all manner of vehicles from rigid body and semi-trailer trucks to utes.

Organisers are planning to establish a ‘Water Embassy' near Parliament House in Canberra once the convoy arrives.

The organisers have started a social media campaign using #cantheplan.
