Honda ag bike comes of age

HONDA has released a new version of its agricultural motorcycle which is less than $4500. The new AG-XR is powered by a 184cc engine and is ADR compliant straight from the factory and LAMS approved.

This means not only can the two-wheeler be road registered without requiring additional parts, it can also be used by Learner riders.

Other handy features include electronic fuel injection; a first for a Honda ag bike, and electric start as well as a back-up kick start. There’s also a clutch lock which allows the bike to stay in gear in situations when the rider needs to get on or off quickly.

A heavy-duty rear rack can handle up to 20kg and a spring-loaded clamp on the front rack is ideal for smaller items (up to 3kg).

Standard tyres are 21 inches for the front and 18 inches for the rear and ‘Big foot’ side stands on both sides of the motorcycle will help prevent the AG-XR from sinking into soft ground.

The Halogen headlight has high and low beam settings.
