The voluntary Sheep Producer Intentions survey was opened last week, and is a collaboration between Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA) and Australian Wool Innovation (AWI).

A new personalised ‘dashboard' feature of the survey means comparisons can be viewed between, for example, producers from within MLA defined sheep production regions.

The survey was formerly called the MLA and AWI Wool and Sheepmeat Survey and takes place three times a year. Results are broken down nationally and by state and support producers to make the most efficient management decisions.

Information from all sheep production growing regions of Australia is collected on producer intentions for the sheepmeat and wool industry, approximate flock sizes, breed makeup and lamb, wether and ewe numbers.

The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and closes 16 October 2022.
