Models initially offered in Australia will be the Style, PanAmericana and Aventura - with turbo petrol and diesel power, including VW's renowned V6 engine. Other models - Amarok Core and Life - are expected mid-year.

The Amarok Style, available with a choice of 154kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel or 184kW/600Nm 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6, will be positioned just above the previous Amarok Highline in terms of specification.

The Style variant will feature IQ.LIGHT Matrix LED headlamps, 12-inch infotainment display with navigation, 12" Digital Cockpit pro and 10-way driver/eight-way passenger power adjustable front seats with heating as standard.

PanAmericana and Aventura models will see the introduction of all-terrain 18-inch tyres and darkened sports exterior accents combined with a leather-covered dashboard and Harman/Kardon premium audio (PanAmericana) and 21" wheels, leather trim, electronic roll cover and chrome accent exterior (Aventura).

The PanAmericana is diesel V6 exclusive. The Aventura builds on Volkswagen TSI heritage with a 222kW/452Nm 2.3-litre turbo petrol engine, or diesel V6.

Pricing is expected to be in the $70,000-$80,000 range for the Aventura and PanAmericana (with the PanAmericana being closer to $80,000) while the mid-specification Style will be around $64,000.
