The 1500mm-long compressor wand is made in the United States and distributed in Australia by Mount Barker, South Australian-based company Brüder Kompressor.

But to get the most out of the Force 5 Megablaster, we found it needs to be paired with a 120cfm compressor.

Initial testing on a 90cfm compressor delivered only mediocre results, but when connected to a 124cfm unit via 20mm air hose, the wand was highly rated by operators.

With the compressor running constantly at 100psi (690kPa), the Force 5 Megablaster made short work of daily clean-downs.

But it doesn't come cheap. At $630 delivered, the Megablaster is one of the most expensive pneumatic tools without a motor we have ever seen.

Despite the pricing, the aluminium wand and machined aluminium venturi tip construction is impressive.

The powdercoated trigger mechanism resembling a fuel bowser nozzle is easy to hold and an auxiliary handle on the wand body can be added if needed.

Personal Protective Equipment including eye, hearing and hand protection must be worn by the operator and observers should keep a safe distance away.

So is the $600-plus investment worth it over a standard piece of pipe and ball valve? Provided you have a compressor with plenty of puff, you bet it is. Norm (pictured) gives it two thumbs up.
