Neil has significantly impacted the agricultural sectors he has been involved in and consistently puts ‘leadership into action', bringing a huge array of skills to every role he takes on.

Since graduating with a degree in Veterinary Science with first class honors, completing his PhD and obtaining a Diploma in Human Resource Management, Neil has built a career and reputation based on excellence, evidence and the highest levels of dedication, caring and service to the farming community he works with.

"Nine out of 10 farmers learn from other farmers, and as a consultant, it is important to not only appreciate and respect that perspective, but understand how to incorporate fundamental and proven industry research to achieve success on-farm," said Neil.

"It's definitely a balancing act, but I am dedicated to supporting farmers to ensure the research that is relevant to them and their businesses is trialed in their back yards and is accessible to everyone in the region."

Ben White, General Manager of Research, Kondinin Group, said Neil's dedication to understanding both the heart and minds of his farming clients has given him a unique awareness of the drivers of on-farm adoption.

"A key issue for anyone involved in agricultural research and development is extension," said Ben.

"Neil ensures his clients not only have access to the latest R&D for their farm, but he supports their uptake while factoring in profitability and other non-profit related factors that are known important drivers of adoption in agriculture."

Dan Dixon, ANZ marketing director for Award sponsor Corteva Agriscience, said Neil's diverse farmer clientele had given him valuable insights into the complexities of farming systems and the specifics of practice adoption by farmers.

"Neil's rounded approach with his clients is admirable," said Dan.
"His individual, tailored and flexible solutions ensure every client receives the most appropriate information for their circumstances to achieve the right outcomes specific for them."

Neil continues to work alongside many of these groups as well as continuing to support his clients and remains committed to delivering the highest quality, relevant and practical solutions to famers as they meet the challenges of optimising their sustainability, profitability and personal well-being during these challenging times and beyond.
