Strong restocker demand and tight supply push EYCI to record territory

ACCORDING to the latest cattle update from Rural Bank, strong restocker demand and tight supply are expected to continue to support the Eastern Young Cattle Indicator (EYCI) in record territory for the remainder of the year.

Rural Bank reported a six per cent rise in October which took the indicator to a new high of 822.5c/kg. This places the EYCI 60.5 per cent higher than a year ago when markets were under pressure from destocking....
