There is only just over a week left to apply with applications closing on April 27.

Rabobank business programs manager Nerida Sweetapple says the program offers young farmers from across Australia and New Zealand from a range of agricultural sectors the opportunity to develop and enhance their business management skills.

"It's becoming increasingly important to remain commercially driven in all aspects of farm management and the next generation of farm owners and managers want to develop their skills to maintain their 'edge' as ambassadors for the future of agriculture," Sweetapple says.

"We are seeking high-achieving, energetic individuals keen to develop their strategic thinking and management skills in an agricultural context to apply for the Farm Managers Program and enhance their potential success as farmers.

"Participants gain many benefits from their experiences on the program – increased confidence in themselves personally and professionally, access to a network of like-minded farmers, and fine-tuned business skills relevant to their farming enterprises."

Designed to strengthen the operational and strategic skills of emerging farmers, the Farm Managers Program is modelled on the highly respected Rabobank Executive Development Program, a long-standing business development course for leading Australian and New Zealand farmers.

This year marks the 10th year of Rabobank's Farm Managers Program, with more than 300 young farmers from across Australia and New Zealand graduating from the program since its inception in 2006.

Delivered in one week-long residential module, the program covers the latest practices in business management, leadership, planning, finance, and communication and how these can be applied directly to participants' farm businesses.

Only a limited number of quality applicants are accepted for each year's intake, selected from a group of leading farmers from a range of commodities and geographical locations in Australia and New Zealand. The program is open to all farmers and not limited to Rabobank clients.
