Aspermont is to receive $2.3 million to roll out the Kondinin Group Drought Resilience for Agriculture Research Extension and Adoption program over three years.

The project will see Kondinin Group deliver a comprehensive farmer-focused extension and adoption program aimed at seeking out the most successful drought-related techniques, strategies and technologies being used by farmers and agribusinesses around the country.

Information will be delivered nationwide via a range of new and existing distribution channels, including print supplements as part of the Farming Ahead magazine, online news and newsletters, direct email campaigns, multimedia, social media and event partnerships.

Ben White, Kondinin Group general manager - Research, said the project was "well aligned with the ethos of the Kondinin Group research brand which aimed to draw together and distil practical information for farmers looking to improve drought preparedness."

White said: "Kondinin Group has built a reputation for providing Australian farmers with independent, impartial and reliable information for nearly 60 years. This innovation grant is a nod to that legacy with knowledge that the information complied and extended will be relevant, practical and sound."

Ian Hart, chief content & strategy officer at Aspermont, who has 20 years' experience in supporting the information needs of the food and agriculture industry, added: "The announcement from Minister Littleproud is a huge endorsement of the deep, impactful work that our Kondinin Group unit does to support farmers, the rural community and full supply chain in Australia.

"Aspermont's content reaches four million people across the global mining, energy and agriculture industries and we are proud to bring them together to collaborate, problem solve and find innovative breakthroughs for some of the most pressing challenges in the world today. This project is a glowing example of how we are able to do that," Hart said.
