Mickel was appointed chair of GIWA after Ashley Wiese stepped down from his role as chair to continue his work with GIWA on the oat council.

Mickel has served as chair on the GIWA Barley council for some time as well as being on the South East Premium Wheat Growers Association (SEPWA) executive committee since 2005 and served as president from 2010 to 2012.

Mickel provides great business acumen and a grower's prospective to the GIWA team.
