Lamb slaughter numbers drop to eight-year low

FIGURES from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) show that May’s lamb slaughter was 33 per cent below year-ago levels and the lowest monthly total since 2012.

According to Meat & Livestock Australia, the May slaughter figure of 1.45 million head, followed significant reductions in every state.
