The first reaction croppers often have when hit by frost, or any other calamity for that matter, is despair and then they want to leap into action.
 
This was the observation Esperance, Western Australia-based farm management consultant Ben Curtis, Farmanco, made last year after the frosts. The lessons from that experience are worth remembering, Ben said.
