THE recent outbreak of Panama Disease in banana crops across Far North Queensland has resulted in an increase in the demand for quality fencing, as farmers look for increased biosecurity to help protect their business.

Fencing contractor Shane Standen operates in Mareeba, Queensland, and he said the outbreak prompted farmers in the region to evaluate how vulnerable their properties are to disease.
