Introduction
The only answer to the problem of weevils in stored grain is an effective fumigation treatment in a gas-tight sealable grain silo. Across Australia, that means fumigation using farmer-applied phosphine or other fumigants through licensed fumigators. In this report, Research Engineer and Grain Storage specialist, Ben White, explains fumigation best practice on-farm with assistance from the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) Grain Storage Extension team.
