LATE season frosts have wreaked havoc in some cropping regions, especially in south-eastern Australia.

Unfortunately for some crops in South Australia, frosts last week were the final punch in the guts, leading to producers to cut cereals for hay. South Australia has seen a particularly poor winter cereal cropping season.

Other growers may be considering their options and the Grains Research and Development Corporation (GRDC) is running an on-line event this week to help. The GRDC webinar is scheduled for this Friday, 4 October and will start at 1pm Australian Eastern Standard time. Topics covered will include do nothing or do something, what are the triggers, options and risks. Leading advisers will provide their guidance and rules of thumb.

This webinar will help assess the options and understand the potential outcomes and risks for those impacted by frosts.

The GRDC has resources available to help with post-frost management. The resources can be found here:  https://bit.ly/3N5REoI
