WITH today marking the federal government's first red tape repeal day, the National Farmers Federation has welcomed the government's work to lessen the burden for businesses to comply with unnecessary and costly legislation and regulation.

NFF general manager policy Tony Mahar said the government had responded to the call from farmers to remove unnecessary burdens regarding the regulation of agricultural and veterinary chemicals.
