HORSHAM’S Grains Innovation Park is turning 50 this year and part of the celebrations will be an open day next week.

The open day will be held on Thursday 18 October and will include site tours, demonstrations and static displays.

Grains Innovation Park is home to some of the latest research and developments in the grain industry including one of the country's best-equipped grains chemistry laboratories.

The Park also houses the Australian Grains Genebank and plant Phenomics Victoria facilities, leading plant pathologists and entomologists helping to protect crops from pests and diseases and a ‘Heritage Crop' field demonstration - showing 50 years of crop improvement.

Visitors can also learn about how the Park's plant, chemicals, invasives and animal health
and welfare staff support farmers, industry and international trade.
