Agriculture Victoria is working with industry groups and farmers to assess the extent of damage and understand its impact.

Frost damage can have a financial and emotional impact of farming businesses and it's important to be proactive and make informed decisions on what actions grain growers can take and at what point in time.

To help farmers and advisors manage the impact of frost damage, many links to relevant services and technical publications can be found on the Agriculture Victoria website.

Farmers with crops that may have been impacted by frost are encouraged to:

  • inspect crops for signs of damage (the longer you wait the less options you have to respond),
  • if damage is suspected consult your agronomist to diagnose the extent of damage
  • develop a plan of action/response with consideration to the short, medium and longer term.

Ag Victoria will also hold a “post frost management forum” this Friday, 24 November, starting at 8.00am at the Kalkee Football Club Rooms, 1674 Blue Ribbon Road, Kalkee, Victoria.
