Microwaving weeds shows promise

We all know the soggy mess veggies turn into if they’re zapped for too long in the kitchen microwave. This same principle – using microwaves to overheat plant material and thereby causing it to breakdown – is being used in novel research investigating the effectiveness of microwaves to control weeds.
