Beef industry stakes its claim in educational book

Beef industry stakes its claim in educational book

Story Added : 25th May 2011

First published during 2002, the much-anticipated revised edition covers all aspects of Australia’s modern beef industry.

Kondinin Group’s Catriona Nicholls says it is an important story to tell.

“Australia is a well respected providor of safe and delicious beef products,” Ms Nicholls said.

“The Story of Beef gives readers the opportunity to discover how beef cattle are managed, and how fresh, nutritious meat is delivered to consumers around the world every day.”

“For more than a decade Kondinin Group has been educating Australian consumers about agriculture beyond the final consumer product and the release of the newly-revised Story of Beef is both exciting and timely.”

MLA’s General Manager Communications David Pietsch says Australian beef producers work under complex circumstances to deliver high quality beef to consumers.

“Our beef industry is world-leading in terms of efficiency and innovation. Beef producers are custodians of nearly half Australia’s landmass – a responsibility that is taken very seriously,” Mr Pietsch said.

“The urban/rural divide has created a disconnect between consumers and food production, so it is important that find ways of telling people about the industry, and its importance to our social, economic and environmental well-being.”

The Story of Beef was published by Kondinin Group and proudly supported by MLA.
