Opportunity knocks for national grain conference

Story Added : 09th May 2011

The ‘Weathering risks: Creating opportunities’ theme includes a raft of international and local speakers.

“The conference is a must for anyone involved in the grains industry,” event manager Rosemary Richards said.

“Last year saw a record attendance and we expect the same this year with increased international interest.

“We encourage delegates to get in before 1 July 2011 and take advantage of our discounted early bird rates.”

This year’s sessions include the outlook for the global grains and oilseeds industry, changing trade patterns and market requirements, feed grains, industry consolidation, managing export logistics and market trends.

Delegates will hear from United States Department of Agriculture Global Policy Analysis division director Mike Dwyer; Money Farm president Mike Krueger; Viterra vice president and managing director, Christian Joerg; and Coceral secretary general Teresa Babuscio.

The conference will be held from July 25 to July 27 at Melbourne’s Crown conference centre.
