New service feeds information-hungry farmers

Story Added : 15th April 2011

The website will complement the Group’s esteemed ‘hard-copy’ mastheads Farming Ahead and Group Talk magazines and signifies a new era in the delivery of Kondinin Group’s services to Australian primary producers.

Kondinin Group managing editor Laureta Wallace said www.kondiningroup.com.au would not only provide farmers with new online features but also bolster the Group’s most sort after service — the ability to search past Kondinin Group research.

“Farmers are information hungry — they are in demand of information on issues such as the best harvester to buy, the latest results of crop trials or data on bank performance.”

“And like many of us operating in a digital world, farmers expect to be able to access information instantly, online and in the comfort of their farm office.

“For more than 55 years Kondinin Group has remained as the forefront of farming innovation, and ensuring farmers have access to the most modern online library is a paramount innovation for the operating environment of 2011 and beyond.”

Kondinin Group is already among a growing number of agricultural entities forging a new frontier in social media.

“Social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook have become invaluable ways for Kondinin Group to keep in touch with farmers across Australia and to disseminate information on a minute-by-minute basis,” Ms Wallace said.

As well as the ability to search more than 5000 Kondinin Group research articles www.kondiningroup.com.au will feature favourites including Farm Photo, the Kondinin Group Bookshop and exciting new additions such as digital editions of Farming Ahead and Group Talk, video footage of behind-the-scenes testing and commodity updates.

Farmers will find everything they need to know about Kondinin Group including membership and information services, publishing, training and consultancy services. There is also an agricultural calendar with links to major events in the industry as well Kondinin Group events and workshop dates.

“The main menu will point our readers to upcoming workshop and course locations as well as information on Kondinin Group events such as the Australian Farmer of the Year Awards and the Farming Ahead 2011 — Land, Water, Carbon conference,” Ms Wallace said.

Farmers will be able to view the new look site at Kondinin Group’s current online home www.kondiningroup.com.au from Monday, April 18.
